Starting out his career primarily as a piano player, Dan toured the world with a host of artists ranging from Maynard Ferguson to Blood Sweat & Tears, but with a background firmly routed in composition and orchestration, he quickly realized his would not be a life spent on the road.
After performing a week at the historic Blue Note in New York City, Dan decided that New York was where he needed to be and left behind his life on the tour bus for life in the city.
Inevitably, Dan's connection to the music scene led him to arranging, orchestrating and writing various works for film/television.
From playing guitar in a rock band during his formative years, to his education in Jazz Piano Performance and Orchestration/Arranging at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, to extensive touring with different groups in varying styles, Dan's versatility and ability to draw on this varied background paved the way for a career in composition for picture.
Dan has recently received a Primetime Emmy Award Craft Citation. His scores have also earned him an ITVA award, a "Best original score" accolade from Screen Magazine, a "Best Original Music" award at this year's D Show Awards and his score for the film Kofi recently premiered in Cannes during the film festival.
